Christmas Gnome – Amigurumi Crochet Pattern
Materials
- Yarn/wool: I have used Catania yarn from Schachenmayr in beige (0263 < 50g),
dark grey (0393 < 50g), light grey (0172 < 50g) and dark red (0192 < 50g) color. - Crochet hook: 3.0 mm
- Tapestry needle
- Filling
- Small amount of merino wool for felting the beard in white color
- Felting needle
Abbreviations
- St(s) – stitch(es)
- Ch – chain
- Sc – single crochet
- Hdc – halb double crochet
- Dc – double crochet
- Slst – slip stitch
- Inc – increase (2 sc in next st)
- Dec – decrease (2 sc worked off together)
- Hdcinc- halb double crochet increase (2 hdc in next st)
- Dcinc – double crochet increase (2 dc in next st)
- (nr) – indicates the total number of stitches in the current row/round
- FO – fasten off
Important Notes
- All rounds are worked in a continuous spiral (except hat). Do not join or turn, unless instructed otherwise
- You may find it useful to use a stitchmarker for counting your rounds
- While stuffing take care to give each part a nice shape

Start stuffing the body and keep on stuffing while crocheting.

FO. Close the hole by leading the thread through the front loops of last round, pull it tight and weave the yarn tail into the head.
Beard
Separate the merino wool into strands. Use the felting needle to attach the tresses to the face (if you prefer, you can sew them to the head instead). Cut the beard to the preferred length and form.

With red yarn (make two):

Stuff the foot. The remaining part of the foot does not need to be stuffed.
